• Madi Johnson, Executive Director

Madi has been volunteering with Camp Leo + ConnecT1D for four years. Before starting as the executive director of Type 1 United, she spent five years building community at the YMCA of Greater Seattle as the Healthy Living Director. She is also a yoga and Zumba instructor, volunteers with #insulin4all, a T1D advocacy group, and plays with her puppy, Izzy.

As Type 1 United’s executive director, Madi brings a passion for connecting T1D community members in all stages in life.

“I am excited to expand our reach so every person with type one diabetes in Washington state and the PNW has the opportunity to have a community that inspires them and that gets them. I see a future where doctors and educators are prescribing our events to people with type 1 diabetes. To families, kids and adults who are experiencing diabetes burnout, because sharing success, challenges and laughs with your community may just be the second best medicine."
